CPR Training Event

news

Dear NATA Family,

About 2 years ago, under the guidance of NATA leadership, we formulated SAHA and defined the global health initiatives and wellness programs for our community. This was also announced during the 2016 NATA Dallas Convention.

As part of this overall vision, on September 16th, we launched our pilot program in which we conducted a CPR Training Event for over 25 individuals, and it was successful.

The event was conducted by NATA teaming with American Heart Association. We launched this program at Saint Peter’s Hospital in NJ as a pilot with the plan to repeat and expand nationwide.

Both, Dr. Meena Murthy and myself, would like to extend this training to additional volunteers and increase the number of health ambassadors in the community. Our personal goal is to create 1000+ health ambassadors soon using a train-the-trainer approach.

For now this program is available in New Jersey. Planning is underway to cover other states as well. You are welcome to reach out to your Regional VPs and nominate yourself for future programs. We highly encourage youth participation. You can also write to me.

We want to thank all the volunteers (including the children) who stepped up, signed up, and trained themselves in administering CPR.

We want to thank the NATA facilitators for co-ordinating and leading the event.

We want to thank the President (Rajeshwar Gangasani), President-Elect (Dr. Raghava Reddy), Secretary (Srikanth Penumada), NJ Regional VPs (Sathya Pathapati, Mahesh Maramreddy, Prabhakar Reddy, Venu Pasula, Chandra Reddy), Treasurer (Chinnababu Reddy), and Board of Director (Anjan Karnati).

We want to thank Prabhakar Reddy for sponsoring the lunch for the event, and to Venu Pasula for shouldering the responsibility of supporting the logistics.

Special thanks to Dr. Meena Murthy, Saint Peter’s Hospital, who’s leadership and pursuit for wellness assured the delivery of this program, and its success.

Special thanks to Vicky Coll - Regional Leader (American Heart Association) for her ever positive influence, expertise, and immensely valuable coaching.

And finally, we want to thank NATA Advisory Council and Leadership for believing in the programs from the beginning and supporting us all the way through.
